SOLDAN INTERNATIONAL STUDIES HIGH SCHOOL CAREER PATHWAYS

At Soldan International Studies High School (SISHS), we are distinguished by our foreign language department where we offer six distinct courses in Russian, French, German, Chinese, Arabic, and Spanish languages.

Additionally, we offer three distinct career pathways.  Each career pathway is a school-within-a-school.  During the Spring of their freshman year students working with school counselors and pathway educators, select a career field of interest

These pathways provide a rigorous and relevant core curriculum; blended with soft skills to prepare graduating students to enter the workforce in their area of study or for further post-graduate study at a technical school or college/university.  Here at Soldan H.S. each pathway has a core team of dedicated teachers who partner with industry advisors from the vocational field of study to coordinate the interdisciplinary curriculum. These comprehensive programs prepare students to be productive citizens in the global society.

Additionally, students are offered the opportunity to earn college credit through advanced placement courses.  They are exposed to multi-disciplinary career choices to gain real world experiences through field trips, guest speakers, school partnerships, mentoring, job shadowing, and internships.  These experiences are planned and coordinated by the individual pathway teams and the SLPS Career and Technical Education Division. In addition to these experiences, a SISHS Advisory Board (made up of educators, business partners, colleges, and other community members) assists in the development of curriculums for each pathway and coordinate mentorship and internship placements.

Interested students should contact Mr. Spivey, in the Counselor’s Office, to apply for membership in the Pathway of their choice.
